Just a reminder to all.Be sure and check your anti freeze. I THOUGHT mine was good untill I dropped a tester in mine yesterday. It registered at about +10(NO GOOD!!!!)After checking into it,it had been over 12 years on this same coolant !!! (plus small additions now and then) So,I did a good system flush and new coolant now.

Check your cooling system out today! It is not worth busting a block over !!!!

THANK YOU for the reminder. A few summers ago I added a lot of water to my MF-240, meaning to compensate anti-freeze but forgot it, then really forgot about it. Later that winter I noticed seepage under the engine.... I had pushed a freeze plug out a bit, but apparently no real damage... THANKS I'll go check today.

Good reminders. My grandpa lost the motor in his Allis B about 15 years ago to a frozen block. Until the day he passed away he regretted not checking into that routine maintenance.

if you have a tractor sitting out side with out an exhaust cap on it drain the water out of the engine and carborator as well. I am working on a W4 that got water in two pistons and now I am looking for a replacememt block. the force of the ice split the sleeves and moved the piston down about 3/4 in the first year and then blew out the block the next year i guess.
