Farmall A Oil Filter (short or tall)

Hello. I measured the height on the Oil Filter on my 1945 Farmall A. The measurement is 5 1/2" tall. So would this be the short or tall filter. I know that the taller was also used on the Super A. What year did they make the change. THANKS

You cant use the tall one on a SA brcause of the hy lines just wont clear it. Over the yrs older tractors have changed to the shorter ones and how would you know why things just happen.

Gene Hello and THANKS. I am sure that a lot of tractors over the years got retrofitted with the shorter version. Do you happen to know the part number from NAPA I can get that local Again TKS

I get mine from Car Quest and they are made by Wix they are down at the shop and i get several when they have treir specials in Feb only cost a couple bucks. I dont remember just when they went to the short ones but over the yrs i do see where someone has changed sizes probably changed engines and it came with the tall ones.
