Been away from this forum and my tractors for a couple years because of health issues but things are better and I’m back working on the supper C and I have a substantial oil leak in the front of the engine. I’m guessing the front bolster has to come off to replace the front seal are there any special considerations in doing this. Larry |

| | Adding to what Red Dave said. Check the crank and make sure there are no deep grooves or it seems excessively worn. You can get a standard seal if everything looks good, or you might need to get one with a Speedi Sleeve if the crank is worn. As for getting them off, dad and I finally invested in a good bearing splitter w/puller. They can still be hard to get off, but that it makes it much easier. |

| Yes, the front bolster will have to come off. So will the pulley and the front cover on the engine. The seal is actually in the cover and it seals against the hub of the pulley.Removing the pulley can be tricky, search on here for several methods of pulling it off without breaking it. A, B, BN, Super A, C, & Super C all have the same kind of pulley on the front of the crankshaft. |
