J.D.HEICHEL 11-12-2012 10:21:45 67.235.0.78 Report to Moderator	I bought a real nice sickle bar mower at an auction this past summer,it was on 230. I hooked into it with my Super c fasthitch,when its folded up and laying back over its only a few inches off the ground,raise all the way up. When i opened it up to cut down the corn stalks in my large garden it lays flat on the ground and i can't raise it anymore. There were 2 chains coming off of the 230 that hooked to it at the auction. Was this to help raise it up more? If so where do i hook chains at on my super c. I have the chains but dont know where or what to do with them. Could someone post some photos so i can understand the correct setup. [Reply]   [No Email]

When you lift the hitch, this chain becomes taut and lifts the cutterbar. The right side chain (I think!) attaches to the right axle clamp. That chain limits how low the whole mower lowers. If you have the long rod that goes to the touch control arms up by the engine, you don't need the chains -that'l lift the bar without lifting the whole mower. [Reply]  [No Email]

One limited how low the mower could be lowered and the other affected raising the bar when the mower was lifted.That tractor had a place build on the tractor to hook the chains. Sounds like your tractor doesn't which means it was meant for a different model mower. [Reply]  [No Email]

I adapted a U-F28 that was made for a 300 utility to my Super C. I had to make some brackets to get to raise and lower. If you don't know what model it is, post a picture on here or over on the implement forum and somebody will figure it out for you. That's how our SC raised the cutter bar. You set the inside of the cutter bar height with the Fast Hitch and never moved the F-H while you mowed. Then the left side Touch Control raised the outer end of the bar about 3' and the inner end less than 1'. You removed the leveling link bar and pinned it solid. Just thinking.... if it came off a 230, the 230 may not have had Touch Control, many did not. I believe they may have used a cylinder to raise the cutter bar.
