Problem with working on a Touch Control is that it's all internal in that box under the gas tank. Can't see anything but the input levers and the output arms. Yes, the T-C should operate indipendantly of the Auxillary valve, but there is only one pump and the systems are separated interior of the system, so there has to be a flow control of some kind to separate them. If whatever valve is there to separate them is malfunctioning, one can affect the other. I'm looking in th parts breakdown to see if I can determine what it is... would be a alot better if the parts book included a hydraulic schematic. Each cylinder in the T-C has a "front" and "rear" what IH is calling a check valve.I'm thinking this has something to do with locating the arm when the lever is moved, but without the schematic, I can't tell how they work within the system. there is a cover on the rear of the "box" and these valves ar behind that cover. There is also a "safety" valve, which I'm assuming is the system relief valve. Also a "pressure control" valve, and with a "safety" valve, I don't know what this valve is or does. Sometimes there are "circuit" reliefs that are set lower than an overall system relief, so the PC valve may be for the overall pressure, including the auxillary valve circuit and the "safety" valve may be for the T-C circuits. maybe a service manual has a schematic, but I don't have one of those. My parts book covers the 200- 240 tractors. [Reply]   [No Email]
