Thanks to the help here I have established that the spool valve located in the hydraulic safety relief body needs replaced. It's the spool valve for the power steering. The problem I have is finding a part number for it. I think it is possible to get the replacement part if I can find the part number. Anyone have that part number? I have a Behlen power steering unit.

You have the correct part number and you will notice parts manuals says order entire valve assembly. I have replaced many of those spool over the years and did get one about 6 or 7 years ago. Some parts men will not look an further than that which is a mistake. I would try again. Or call Titan CASEIH at Watertown , S.Dak. and ask for Ed. No one else there will be of much help. He will be able to tell you if it is still available or not. I am betting it is.

Bob, I found a thread about this same issue in the Modern View dated Aug. 21,2010, by Spotted Horse and titled "Attn: Owen Aaland and/or D. Slater" along with some pictures which might be of help to you. Unfortunately, the thread doesn't provide a source for the part except possible fabrication by a machine shop. In that post part no. 372204R1 is called a flow divider valve. Hope this is of some help with your issues or understanding some trouble shooting techniques, Hal.

If it is factory steering, regardless of the brand it should be in the IH parts book. If you don't have one you can look it up in www.caseih.com

I did find a part number online but when I called the dealer they told me it wasn't available. 372204R1 is the number I found.

Quite possible, but ask your dealer to do a parts search. If he doesn't want to do it, call Carter and Gruenewald, they will, they found me a dealer in Canada (I'm in KS) once. Phone number is on www.cngco.com.
