M Serial # Suffix Questions for D Slater or Others

According to my books, a M with a suffix of X1G means "Gasoline, High Speed Gears, Low Speed Gears." Does this statement mean the tractor has a much slower 1st gear and a much faster 4th gear(like 7mph), or what?? Can you please explain the meaning of this suffix to me? Thanks.

This link will may help you varify, if you can read it, which I can't on my iPad.
I've been told X1 means gas, and on the super Ms G means it cotton picker attachment. But I'm not sure if G on an M means that or not.
So I'll ask you, do the ends of the rear axel housings have bell like out flare to them?
Wardner posts a good parts picture of this, and I have in the archives a photo of the axel.

Means the transmission has both slower 1st AND faster ("7 mph") 4th gears.

However transmission ratios for gears 2, 3, and 5 are unchanged. So also I believe is reverse.

What Bob posted. It was sold with the slower first and faster 4th. Due to those gears being hard to find, if a gear failure happend in the past some are found with the common regular M gears installed. Especially the 4th gear.
When first is slowed it slowes reverse along with it.
