Farmall A S/A: Creeper First Gear?

I thought I read somewhere that there was an optional super low
creeper first gear for Farmall As and S/As, and that tractors that
had this were indicated by a letter appended to the serial number.
Does anyone know anything about this? I would like a lower first
gear for my S/A for doing grader work. Do I need a whole different
transmission, or can I just swap out a pair of gears? How do I
recognize a donor tractor if I can find one?

Not in the transmission, the device was not tillage, it was for planting, Hydro Creeper a PTO driven device, or a Howard Roto Hoe gear device that also was not in the trans. Jim
