F20 Distributor

Anyone ever seen a distributor added to a Regular or F20 before. Obviously it has been done, and I’m wondering how they did it. Any of you guys that bleed IH red recognize what they used to do this conversion?

You can find a video of this tractor by searching 1924 Regular on you tube.

ive junked out alot of F-20's and i have had two with aftermarket ignition systems. one was of a 90* distributor like you have pictured, and another cut the base mount off and used a flange mounted distributor like on an M. i think i may have them left sitting in the shed somewhere

Old-F20,

Since I have an electric starter kit on my 20, I was just thinking a distributor may be an option in the future. I guess it you had some parts to work with it may not be too hard to do. If you run across one of your distributors in the shed let me know.

Like I said, I’ve already got electric start, Heisler OD and manifold, big bore kit, foot brakes, power lift, a PTO and a char lynn hydro unit, so another update would be neat. I’m trying to figure how I want to mount the hydro unit, etc to give me the most versatility in the future. I’d love to rig some kind of 3 point to it so I could box blade with it. Ever seen anything like that?

Looks like it is a Delco aftermarket. Same set-up is used on quite a few Ms and Hs. Probably will need to do some modifications to make it work on the F20.
