504 IH Engine

Bought a 504 IH tractor, motor is bad. What other engines will bolt directly into this tractor? Will a 544 motor work? Thanks!

I have an engine fron a 203 combine it might fit, I would be willing to sell it.

A 50 hp. combine engine will work in there if you can find one. I think its a c155.

A 606 is essentially a 504 with two more cylinders. I'd be looking for 460 and 606 motors for a direct swap. I suppose the higher cube sister 282 would go in as well. Whatever you put in there, you need to pay attention to the radiator.

YOu also need to spend some time with the IH on-line parts book.

I think a 340 used the same engine but with sleeves so a little less displacement? Could be wrong there.
