Farmall sawmill engine

I have a big old IHC 4 cyl gas engine that used to run a sawmill. A friend told me it might be a C181 I think. How and where will this engine be identified? It is stuck from setting. Is this something pullers or anyone else would want? It is electric start and basically complete.

Try to find some numbers cast into the thing.See if a SN plate is still there.Post some pics to help with IDing it.That is not an engine that I recognise. But I would dought that would be a 'puller'engine.

Around these parts (Pennsylvania), complete power units are not common, and while have a limited following, do get a good price if you find the right buyer.

You location would help, and pictures are aways best. If you have trouble posting pictures, send me an email and I will be happy to post them on this thread for you.

I have posted a pic in "Help Identify" with more info. I have the radiator & grill. It is complete I think except part of the water pump pulley that A friend needed. I do plan to sell it. I'm in N. E. MS. I don't know what it is worth, don't want to give it away, don't want to rip anybody.

It looks to me like an "H" sized engine, 152 ci based on an H or 164 c.i. based on SH. That's just me eyeballing the carb and manifold size. I don't know anything about a C181.

The power units are desirable, but the fact that it's stuck and can't hear it run hurts you on value. I can see in the photo that the exhaust manifold is rusted out, easy to replace though.

The value is tough to figure. A stuck H motor is worth what it weighs. However, the accessory drive can be put on any H motor and bingo you have a power unit. You just have to find someone that has a need for it. Put it in the photo ads.

I would start at $500 and be willing to negotiate. Just one man's opinion though.
