F 12 fuel question.

Thanks to all the folks who helped me with the pump issues not long ago.

Now I got it back together and installed today BUT I forgot to tighten up the fuel line at the carb. I drove it around the yard it ran great except the fuel leak and not reving on up as you pull the throttle lever on out.

I'm wanting to know if the leaking fuel line will cause the engine to take a long time to react to pulling the throttle lever open more? When it's running you can slide the throttle lever out farther and nothing changes for a few seconds or longer. What would cause this problem?

Thanks'
Dennis

It did when I drove it around. Once I tried tightening up the fuel line (which didn't stop the leak) it didn't seem to come on up that time just sitting there. I didn't spend much time on it them due to it still leaking gas.

Dennis, I don"t think a fuel leak would cause the throttle problem. Fuel leak would cause tractor to run rough as it get gas and than air.
Anyway the throttle sticking would most likely be the trusher bearing is not working correct.
Although is could be just linkage. make sure all your linkage from govenor to carb is free and moving. Could be some rust that has it stuck.

Yup, I agree with Oldiron. Govenor sticking, throttle linkage binding, etc. etc.

make sure all things govenor and throttle linkage are free moving with NO binding or resistance. The sping action from the govenor should be "snappy".

Check these things first, and we can go from there.
