its like you push the switch in and back out right away. just got it. leak in radiaiter, got the touch control to work, rebrazed hard line,. could it be head gasket, or carb? thanks

all over the palce asking about head gasket or carb.

could it be?

could be.. but I'd do some diagnostics first.

for a miss like that.. i always check spark first. it's free and easy.

once you know you have GOOD consistant spark on all plugs.. look at the miss. is it random.. or repeatable. if it is on a set pattern.. check for a missing cyl by pulling a wire and replacing and moving down the line. 1 may make less difference.

if random.. check fuel.. look for water droplets.

as for the HG.

is she steaming? loosing water? getting oily sheen in water?

gettng water in oil?

combustion pressure in rad?

any plugs steam cleaned?

any plugs look like they are fouling? ( soot, oil, etc.. )

One of my 400s stopped as if it had run out of gas. When I tried to restart it the engine only rotated half a revolution. I pulled the plugs and two cyclinders had gas in them. The float had stuck in the carb. Now it idles faster, but I did not take the carb apart yet and it still runs well. Maybe yours needs to be adjusted.
