Good evening,I am having problems wiring my light switch up. I have a 1941 Farmall A and a four position light switch. The switch is the old style square looking not the round one. Here is the items that I have to work with. Light switch, 12 volt battery, New alternator, Idot light, Amp meter, Headlights, rear work light and a Magneto with the kill switch mounted on the column. I understand that the Mag and Kill switch does not factor into the equation. The tractor is Negative grounded. Any help would be greatly appreciated. James |

| Does your alternator have an internal regulator or external. Reason I ask this is if you have an external regulator you don't need an idiot lite. Now since you have a magneto you will have to most likely put a switch, push button or key switch in the alternator circuit to excite the alternator to get it charging. If you post some pictures of the back of your lite switch that would help. It can be more complex than what I've just explained but this is the basics. |

| The terminal at the bottom (to F connection) is not used. If your bulbs are 12v versions ov the 6v size the system will work. if they are greator wattage, the resistor for Dim will be toast. LED based bulbs are way brighter, and draw less current. Jim |

| No. it would need to be if (and only if) it was used as originally designed and used. the regulation of charge rate for the generator was through the terminal I indicated above. The field was grounded through the switch. the lights are completely isolated from ground. Jim |
