SH Tire Ballast choice

I am changing tires on rear of My SH. Yesterday I expelled the Calcium down the center of Dirt road for Dust Control. I am told that the choice now is Magnesium Chloride??? I am familiar with Methanol But have decide to use 6 gals of RV antifreeze with balance of water. I tried this 3 years ago on Oliver 77 and it did well. I was told RV anti freeze would not last. What's your thoughts?
I have a WD that has 3 gals prestone in each tire that was installed by previous owner 10 yrs ago.

What does Won't last mean!
It might not keep additives alive for 15 years, but who cares.Jim

I know of a couple guys using windshield washer fluid with no problems reported.

What area do you live? The water in the Kubota that I bought from a guy who moved north from California did not do well in N. Idaho where the tires froze solid, and cut the tubes. I know nothing about mag choloride, I used calcium chloride in my Massey Ferg 15 years ago. Nice and heavy, but you were wise to watch for leaks because of the corosion.

I have had tractors for the last 45 years and only three do or did not have cal. in the tires . One was my 450 D , it had cal. in the tires till i got this hair brain idea that i was going to pull it and had to drain them to make the 6500 lb class . That was all fine and dandy till i hooked to the four bottoms and sat there spinning . Ok lets hang two sets on her - no lets add two more sets of weights to it , oh gee still don't have enough even with the traction boost handle all the way up lets put two more sets on her maybe i'll put one more on the land side that will do it ah one more set yep thats got it , Dam broke off the neighbors fence post from the weights hanging off the left side . and all that work hanging weights got old real fast . I have never owned a new tractor and ihave never had a perfect tractor i always get someone's else's throw away If the tire is leaking fluid then fix it and clean up the rim and go on . If you are to lazy to either break down and fix a tire get someone to do it for you . Takes years to rout out a rim . Around here on our hills you want all the weight on the tire you can get . Our one 706 that Eugene own's does not have fluid in the tires and just the Haybine will shove you down a hill or sideways on a hill . If you are just playen with it and hauling it to shows and such then don't load the tires.

Some of your decision depends on what you need for weight. You get the most weight per gallon with calcium chloride. I don't know about magnesium chloride for weight or cost.
