Was browsing the parts catalogue on Case and saw it had a special tach? Maybe it's only for the 240, but it shows it on the 200 parts too... Anyone know if a 200 can use the 240's tach parts?

You'd probably have to go through the parts catalogs to figure out the gear ratios. The I-240 and F-240 don't even have the same gears and use different tachs. PTO gearing changes would alter the tach face too. There are 4 different tachs for the 130/140 tractors. One of them might be a better match.

The Cub could be equipped with a Tachometer, so I can't see why a 200 could not be equipped similarly, using a similar bracket.

Neat feature but a lot of $$$.

Yeah, from the parts I saw last night from about 4 different sellers.. I'd pay a good $300 for a tach. Neat, but I got other things to fix/replace first. Maybe I'll ask Santa lol.

mkirsch- I checked this afternoon and I do have that port with cover plate. Last night I did do a few searches and those 240 parts are very hard to find... I would assume that the 200 & 240 have the same gears/speeds/rpms.

Jim Becker- That is what I was wondering, if it would work with my 200. I did find the tach gear for around $90, and that doesn't include the gear housing or the cable etc. I would def need to mount the gauge near instrument panel or maybe on the light bar if the 48" cable was long enough.

> Interesting add-on feature if it'll work out. I am looking to add-on an hour meter at some point. Thanks for the input. May keep my eyes open for those parts in the future...

You find it in the 200 catalog only because the 200, 230 and 240 are in the same catalog. If you look at the description, it only lists the 240.

A tach for a 200 or 230 would at a minimum require different mounting brackets as the 240 tach is mounted in the instrument panel. I don't know if IH made one for the 200/230.

Look at the distributor mount on the tractor. Directly under the distributor you should see a small metal plate held on by 2 screws. That's the tach drive port.

If you can find the parts you can add a tachometer. The hard part is finding the tach drive housing and gears.
