Hello,

Saturday I adjusted the clutch linkage. Lately it has been grinding first (from neutral only) a lot. Before it was occasional. Thought I had it, but Sunday's test ride proved wrong. I tried to adjust again today numerous times. No luck still.

Is the clutch release bearing going bad? Or possibly time for a new clutch? I did grease the bearing Saturday as I have never greased it yet. Hoping to wait off on doing a split till I rebuild the engine...

Thanks

Hi, could be pilot bushing in the flywheel. I am not
sure the 200 has the same bronze pilot bearing in
the flywheel as the SC but on a SC there is no way
to lube the pilot bearing and when the bushing gets
dry the transmission drive shaft will continue to
turn when the clutch is depressed.

I suspect pilot bearing is dry. It's not serviceable without splitting that tractor.

I learned this trick from this sight. I can't remember the Gentleman's
name, my bad.

Idle down and go to far right with the shifter and put pressure
upwards above reverse. For some reason this acts as a brake and
minimizes grinding.

I have a Super C that does the same thing and SOME DAY I'll split it
and fix it.
