Cleaned out the glass Mason jar and wiped out up inside the housing, and a broken-up black O-ring dropped out. I guess it fitted up inside, and sealed off the jar. Near as I can see it reads "66776-D", then two stars, then "United States America". It"s not going back in. Anybody use a red rubber Mason jar gasket??

You might be able to go to NAPA and pick up the same size O-ring for about 30 cents. Just take the ring and maybe the jar with you and see what they can match up.

Is the O-ring really needed? My doesn"t have one.

That type of dust collector was an aftermarket thing for many tractor brands and yes a simple red ring like your say would work just fine

You don't even need that jar gasket. Just screw the jar in and be done with it.

The purpose of the o-ring is to keep the jar from vibrating loose and falling off.
