hey gys i bought a cub this week end i noticed when you start it up the rod going to the gov back to carb when you first start it up the rod will move back and forth then it will smooth out was wandering if i need to make a ajustment of some kind also when i bring it back down to idle it will do the same thing it revs up then down Thanks guys

Turn the air mixture screw all the way in, then back out a turn and a half. From there it shouldn't take too much in either direction to smooth out. If this doesn't fix it, then I'd say you have a fuel starvation issue with the carb idle circuit, or a small air leak.

As long as it "hunts" only a time or two, I would do nothing as that is a normal well adjusted governor function. If it hunts continously it then needs adjusting. Joe
