Exhuast pipe threads

What size are the threads in the manifold that the exhaust pipe screws into? 2" pipe thread? Where do you find a tap that big? Local IH dealer doesn"t have one, plumber only has the dies to thread the pipe.
PS. I"m in south central IA and this is on an H.

You can improvise one by taking a 2" threaded piece of pipe, a hacksaw, and some patience. Take the pipe and with the hacksaw cut in 4 to 6 places a line perpendicular to the threads. Do not cut all the way through the pipe, just as deep as the threads. This will work to clean up threads that are in fairly good shape.

I asked around, and the local blacksmith/welder/fabricator said "Sure, I have one." and he re-tapped my manifold for me. You just might ask around wherever you are..

And talk to IH fanatics. The 2" size was used on A LOT of tractors.

Yup it's just 2" "iron pipe." Find a tap to borrow if you can, because buying one isn't cheap, especially considering that you'll probably never use the thing again.

My father-in-law had one. He is in the oil and gas industry and has many taps and dies up to several inches in diameter. Maybe a local oil/gas shop can lend a hand?

you stole my idea. That"s what I do.

It won"t MAKE threads for you, but it"ll clean out the old ones well enough.

Though I usually cut right through - looking down on it - like pizza slices.
