Super C alternator

We are switching from 6-volts to 12 on our super C. Somewhere I read of a 12 volt Alternator that looks exactly like the original 6-volt. Trying to retain the original look. Anyone know who handles such a alternator?

You can replace the 6v gen with a 12v one and it will look just the same or get yours rebuilt for 12v at a gen shop and then with a 12v reg you are set with the original look. Why do you think you need 12v as they will start and run just fine with the 6v system.

Thank you for the comment. When we bought the SC it had a new 6-volt. Would hardly turn it over. I put a new 8v and it lasted a year and would not hold charge. The btry test said it was bad. So, thinking it had a warranty went to get a new 8v. T everyones surprise they do not warrany 8v. So, I am now w/a 12v and a 4 yr warranty. The compression is 115 on all 4 cyl an I suspect this is causing my problem. The 12v winds it up good.

Your problem is in cable connections and or starter. I have built several of those engines with the RED POWER kits and very hi compression. But even before i try to start i will go thru the starter replacing brushes bushings and the bearing and they start just fine yr around.
