I've read on here you knew how much to turn your torque stop screw for stock, +10% and +30% on your 450D. My SMD had the pump set up for +8% and I was wondering if you could give me an idea of how far I need to turn it in for stock fuel delivery. I was thinking of giving it one full turn in but thought you may have a better idea. I don't need all the smoke anymore and was told it may be stressing the head more than stock combustion pressures would. Thanks, Dan |

| The main thing that stress the head is not allowing the engine to warm up before using it and not allowing it to cool down long enough before shutting down . And always shut down on the diesel side . Switching back to gas only heats the head back up. Now as to how much to twist the screw do it a half turn at a time till ya feel your comfortable with the set . When i had my 450 D i had put center punch marks on the threads for several different settings and this was done while the pump was on the pump stand . I ran mine at around 75-80 Hp. for farming and for the pulls it was backed way out . Yea she did smoke while plowing as one neighbor said he knew how many rounds we had made in the field on a still day by the rings of smoke hanging in the air. |
