TTks54 10-06-2012 10:27:21 98.93.31.209 Report to Moderator	I have a farmall 100 and it has become very difficult to start- seems to flood. If I adjust the screw on the carburetor, it seems to sometimes help but then becomes hard to start again and seems to be flooded. Any ideas? Thanks [Reply]   [No Email]

All the pumps are marked 10% ethanol, and my truck's gas mileage acts like there's ethanol in the fuel. Pulled a viton tipped needle out of my Super A carb that's been in there at least 6 years, with ethanol gas the whole time. No sign of erosion, and hard as a rock. I thought it was supposed to turn into goo at the mere mention of ethanol? Maybe the ethanol here has fewer impurities than other places? The toxins in poorly made moonshine that make you go blind if you drink it, you know? [Reply]  [No Email]

The screw at the top of the carb wont help in starting and the one on the bottom is for power like and doesent help for starting. When the idle circuts are plugged in those carbs it does make them hard to start without flooding. [Reply]  [No Email]

Also look in it to make sure it is not full of dirt dubber nest etc. Next pull the rubber tube off the carb to air cleaner and make sure it is still good and not clogged up. Then try this. Pull the drain plug out of the bottom of the carb and let it flow a few minutes catch the gas to look for dirt/water etc. It maybe as simple as a little dirt not letting the float needle to seal so it flood easy or a clogged air cleaner [Reply]  [No Email]

Possibilities include an improperly adjusted float level, failing (leaking or binding) float, a worn out float valve, a bit of trash caught in the float valve, etc. Unfortunately you'll need to go inside the carburetor to determine the cause. Fooling with the external adjustments is not going to fix it. [Reply]  [No Email]
