I have an opportunity to purchase a loader for a Farmall C, but there is no hyd valve. It has two cylinders, one on each side. What type of valve should I look for and thanks for your help. This forum had been very valuable

A regular open center valve sized to handle the hydraulic pump output with 1 or 2 spools depending if you have a manual trip or hydraulic dump for the bucket. Just put a T in the lines going to the cylinders.

Thank you, so if I look on ebay I will look for single spool I can mount on the light bar, there is plenty of room there, that is where the handle to the fast hitch mounts. Then from the spool to a T feeding both cylinders, I think I have it. No intention to retrofit trip bucket, but if I run across a 2 spool at a reasonable price maybe that would be an option, thanks for the prompt reply, sorry for such a basic question but as you can see we are hydraulic illiterate. Thanks again

Well, I just looked at the ebay description on the link and it stipulated NOT for Super C with fast hitch, and I do have a fast hitch ....appreciate the replies, not sure where to go from here. Standing by and thanks

He already has the fast hitch.

Easy way to run the loader is to lock the fast hitch in position and use the existing valve to run the loader. That is what is normally done.

I do not know if a bypass block will work with the fast hitch valve in place. Normally it is used with a plain hydraulic manifold. Theoretically it should not be a problem, but you never know.

Do you lock the fast hitch in place mechanically?
If so, I assume you disconnect the fast hitch
lines and reconnect/pipe to the loader. Is that
it? By the way, I do not need the control arms to
work on the side of the tractor, can they be used?

You might have mentioned that up front. It would have saved some of us the trouble of typing in useless replies. Your situation is covered in some previous threads. Do a little searching and you can find them.

Jim, I apologize, sincerely. I thought I referenced
Super C originally but obviously I did not. I'll
search the archives and see what I can find. May be
the best option is find a C. Again, I apologize.

If you can find a valve that has the "pressure beyond" configuration, all you need then is to plumb it in line between the pump and the existing Fast-Hitch valve. There will be a pressure "In" port, the "Pressure beyond" port and the two "Work" (notmally marked A and B) ports. If you have two way cylinders on the loader, you will plumb one work port to the bottom or head end of the cylinders and the other to the rod or bearing end of the cylinders. If you have only one way cylinders, you can either cap the second work port, in which case you will build relief valve presure when you move the valve that way to lower the loader, or you can return that port to tank, in which case it will just circulate back to the reservoir when moved that way. When you are not using the loader and want the F-H, it should operate normally, unless you move both the loader and F-H valves at the same time.

Thanks a bunch. I have not found anything yet
(although it may be there) that will allow me to
plumb the loader ONE WAY cylinders with the fast
hitch. So I need to search for valve "pressure
beyond" configuration. Will let ya know what I find
and thanks for posting

The Cross Mfg. AD series is avialable with what they call "power beyond", same thing. It's a 15gpm valve, so should work well with the small SC pump. Google Cross manufacturing. I'm sure other hydraulics manufacturers make them too, I know Eaton did and maybe even Northern Hydraulics may handle some.

I really appreciate your diligence to assist.
Thanks. I'll see if I can run one down and let ya
know, thanks again

It's OK. Lets move on.

You could put a selector valve in each line from the the existing F-H valve to the cylinder. Run the output from one to the loader cylinders and the other back to the filler. You have to flip both selectors to change from using the loader to using the Fast-Hitch. That may not prove to be the least expensive approach, depending on what you have to pay for selector valves.

Thanks Jim, the thought of plumbing around with some
kind of valve was a thought initially, but being a
hydraulic neophyte I was not sure how feasible it
was. I have options to investigate so I have decided
to purchase the trip bucket loader and work out the
fluid challenges...anyway for $175.00 I cannot go
too far wrong. Its a manure bucket but I have modest
requirements and we can work around that. I will
post what I find out after some checking Monday and
appreciate all the assistance.

I talked to a hydraulic shop and they have selector valves for approx sixty bucks(X2)and power beyond valves for about the same money. At this point it appears one power beyond valve mounted on the light bar would be a more direct option. Thanks to all that replied, I learned allot on this one and probably allot more to go. Appreciated!!!!
