Voltage regulator

Is there a way to bench test a 12V Delco voltage reg. There are three wires coming to this unit. If possible, I'd like to check mine out before I spring for a new one.

Yes and no. The equipment to do in on a bench is hard to assemble unless you intend to do a bunch, or are in the business. You need a regulated voltage source, a 0 to 50 amp meter, a variable resistance with 100 watt handling capacity (or a regulator checker from Snapon or other)
it is much easier to do on vehicle. or have it tested at a real Auto electric shop. Jim
