Found several non running tractors in one spot yesterday.
3-c's bad tires, engines free, no drawbars or PTO's
1 -SC engine stuck and same as C's
1-230 has F/H valve but no fast hitch or pto
all have single front wheels and are from a flower/vegetable farm. All are for sale. Apparently the scrappers already got to the mounted implements.
I'm interested in the 230 and maybe a C to go with my SC
Whats the value on the 230. It has perfect sheetmetal, no hitch, but has the valve still in place for a fast hitch. Tires hold air but are badly cracked.

350$ each (scrap or a bit more) free engines are also valuable in the sense that they can be assessed for using, or to rebuild W/O headaches. Jim

230's normally didn't have the touch control rockshaft arms like the C/SC/200.

They had what's called a "HydraTouch" system which would have been a single remote valve, whether the tractor had a fast hitch or not.

230's are kind of "special" in that way, and they didn't make a lot of 'em.

Still, not running they're not worth more than scrap price plus the value of the tires. I might be inclined to drop an extra $100 on the 230 above Jim's assessment, just because it's a 230.

I would get a couple of the free-engine C's just so you have a better chance of coming up with two runners. You can pop a C engine in the 230 and pretend while you rebuild the 230's original, or save up to have it rebuilt.

If the sheetmetal is perfect, the grill alone will fetch at least $200. Try finding a nice one and you1ll see what I mean.
