Axle seal leaking a bit on 300.

I have a 300 rc that I am working on to paint. I should say that I'm not trying to restore as much as make it look good again (it's a working tractor). I have the front tires off and was going to remove the rears but noticed that I have a leak out the right axle. Not a lot, but a few drips over a long time. The tractor is sitting on a slight tilt to the right. I wondered this: 1. is it worth doing something about and 2. how difficult is it to replace the seal? Seems like I should leave the tires on if I'm going to try to remove the wheel or no? Thanks for any advice.
 
Probably replacing the seal isn't difficult once you have the tire/wheel off it. The problem is whether the bearing needs replaced.

If that's the case, I believe you have to go inside the bull gear to pull the axle to replace the bearing.

I'd raise the sucker up off the ground and see it the bearing has a lot of play in it. Then decide how far you want to go.

If its leaking now, it will not get any better, so probably now is the time to replace it and check out the bearings at the same time, BUT, sometimes it takes nothing more than a grease gun on that zerk, and several pumps of grease to stop the leaking from that seal, but only temporarily.
