SMD Thompson Live pump - leaking

I had a bad leak between my pump body and the manifold underneath, caused by old flat o-rings. I installed new greased O-rings and it is substantially better, but still leaks maybe 3 drips a minute from between the pump housing and the manifold underneath. Are there any other tricks to seal this up? The manifold doesn't have the smoothest sealing surface finish I've seen.

Thanks,
Dan

Just make doubly sure the bolts are not bottoming out. Correct o-rings should seal it up no problem unless surfaces are rough. May take a little polishing.

I would first remove the pump & check the oring grooves to be sure you hadn't missed any stubborn remnants of the old orings in the bottom of the grooves.
Take your "new" orings with you to a hydraulic parts & repair shop & see if they can provide you with slightly oversized ( thicker not larger diameter) vitron orings.
Check the flatness of both the pump boss & hydraulic line block with a straight edge. If they are warped take a flat mill b-tard file & GENTLY flatten the surface, the pump housing is aluminum so go easy, a little goes a long way. After removing 10 to 20 thousandths from each this will squeeze the orings a bit more & hopefully stop the slight leak.
