I have attached a photo of a tractor. This is the ongoing saga of
trying to determine exactly what it is....can someone make heads
or tails of these numbers on the farmall. Maybe a 350 or a 300

The top number is a part number. The one below it is a casting code. The last letter in the casting code is a year. Y=1953,Z=1954,A=1955, and so on and so on.You can count backwards or forwards to determine the year.That should at least help.

IH says 300 were built 1/55 to 12/56, 350 built 1/56 to 12/58, this comes from CNH on-line parts.

Its a 300 built in july of 1955. The 368486R2 casting was used before 350 tractors were built. Also before farmall 300 production ended the number was 368486R3 or higher.
Got my numbers mixed sould be 360486 above.

thanks. Send me a picture of your whole tractor. I a still puzzled
because take a look at this picture. Note the white paint scheme.
This seems to me indicative of a 350.
