IH 1066 PTO

The PTO shaft broke on my 1066 today while I was cutting hay. Anything I need to know before I tackle this repair job? I've never done anything like this, hope its a straight forward fix.
 
Its a little more complicated than you think,but not real hard.Buy service manual and READ itbefore starteing the repair.You will need to drain the trans,get an engine hoist(to lift out the pto unit)A press,some speacial tools....
 
After you get it fixed, look for the reason it broke. Most times it's because the drawbar is not set at right distance from the PTO.
 
I measured the hitch and PTO several years ago when I first started using this diskbine with this tractor. All the measurements fell into the prescribed specs.

Is it possible for a CV joint to wear enough to cause it to wobble off center? The u joints are all good and tight but I don't know about the inner portion and how to judge for wear. It is a weisler PTO shaft on a Hesston diskbine.
