Mounting a 30 or 31 loader on a 300 Farmall

I am thinking about how to mount my McCormick #31 loader on the 300 for snowplowing duty this winter. It looks like it is mostly pretty similar except the the throttle lever looks like it will interfere with the top cross bar that holds everything together. The H and M that it was designed to work on have horizontal throttles but the 300 has a vertical design. I am thinking about making some kinds of spacer blocks to go between the axle and the loader frame to move the loader forward 2 or 3 inches, since the frame rails are longer anyway I think I will have enough space to do that. I am wondering if anyone has seen these loaders on these tractors and if so how they were set up. Any advice will be much appreciated.

Do you know anyone who would like one of the old loaders? Located in SE Missouri. Don't know the no but it was on a Super H with a dump bucket.

Clearing the throttle by moving it forward is no issue. Just be sure the cross bar is about an inch from the steering/throttle shafts. The block on the axle should be made (or modified) with a stronger plate material. when the pivot holes are moved forward, added stress is placed in the extension. Jim

I know I mounted one on am M once that came off an MTA. The MTA used spacer blocks 6 inches or so. I'm not sure where the blocks went but I bet the guy still has them.

Thanks for the advice. I'm not sure if I understood the part about the strength. I was thinking this morning that maybe I could use some spare drawbar bracket parts that already have the bolt holes in them. At least I can use them temporarily to mount the sub frame and figure out how much spacing is needed.

I have a 31 loader and it has the extension that came with it . grand dad bought it new and they came with it. been fixed up towards the front once. would sell it all.

Extending the mounting point forward 5 or 6 inches places bending (vertical plane) forces on the axle clamp that a shorter bracket would easily handle. The pivot point forces that are transferred from the lifting frame are not all push/pull. Jim

My dad had a #31 on a Farmall 350. He got the spacer blocks from the dealer. The loader had been on an H, and went back on the H when the 350 was traded off.

If you've got some iron laying around, and are handy with a welder, there is no reason you can't fabricate something that will work.

I have a Kelly loader that came off a 300 that I would love to sell.Has a hydraulic dump bucket.
