input: what rear end interchange with 460 r.crop

350 and 460 derived from H, Super H, 300 line. I think 340 derived from 200, 240, C, super C line and might have problems. double check any bolt patterns before swapping, remember gears designed for just so much hp.

240 is c/200 sized, 340 is h/300 sized rear end. I can"t tell what all fits excatly, but i just built a t/a delete for my 460 from a 300rc center section and 340u shafts.

Progression for your rear end, H, SH, 300, 350, 460. Some of these may have what you need. 340 is a much smaller rear end and no parts are the same.

340 and 460 share the same rear end housing. Internally, the gear ratios, sizes of shafts/bearings/gears are probably different due to the reduced horsepower of the 340.

Those are your only choices. The 350 will bolt up at the bell housing, but you give up the internal hydraulic system of the 460.

Fix what you have. 340 and 504 have the same size transmission case that can be used with center housing internal hydrualics. But there's so many different gear ratios used along with differentials, bull pinion gears, bull gears and axles that things get complicated. There is a lot of parts that can be switched between rears, but takes study of parts to do it.
If the 460 doesn't have a CC suffix on the serial # plate the 300 and 350 farmall will have 3rd gears you can use to replace the 460 with.
If it does have the CC I can't remember what other gears are the same without looking it up.
If repacing the 3rd gear on the counter shaft along with the 2nd and third slider gear you can install the gears even if its the different third gear ratio. May not want to change your ground speed though. 460 third with the CC suffix is a slower ground speed than ones without CC.

Just noticed after the other post you may be using in a puller. 460 improved rears and 504 rears would probably be best although some weight could be saved with a 340 rear. Between 300, 350, 460, 340 and 504 farmall and utility tractors there's all kinds of gear ratios you can get. Probably not worried about hydraulics on the puller also.

thanks youall for the input it is puller w/301 bored strokes,so many options in gears i like gearing i got now , run 4th 13 mph, but need 3rd for, 7-8 mph , so look like fix what i got thanks again for input
