MY WIFE DROVE HER 1949 C IN A TRACTOR RIDE LAST WEEKEND FOR ABOUT 3 MI. PUT IT IN THE BARN AND WENT BACK A DAY LATER AND HAVE A 1 FT AROND OIL LEAK UNDER TRANSMISSION AREA. ANY IDEAS WHERE TO START, HAVE NOT LOOKED UNDER TRACTOR YET

Most likely input shaft seal going. Requires splitting the tractor to replace. Personally I would just keep an eye on it, when you start loosing more then a soda cap full in a day of working I would replace.

It looks like it is doing the samething mine was doing. The seals on both ends of the brake pedal shaft that runs thru the tranny case were leaking. You will have to drain a couple of gallons of the oil out of the tranny. Unhook the clutch and brake rods. The pedals will pull right off. Take the woodruff keys out and slide the shaft out. The case has one in each side. I got replacement ones at NAPA. Just a thought.
