My radiator is shot, local shop wants $600 to recore it. Steiner has a new one for $440, one of the few I see that replaces the correct part number.Supposed to be copper core, although made in China(where else?) Anyone out there every buy one of these? How is the quality? Or would I be better off to pay more and have the original recored? |

| I bought one of those from Steiners. Had to send it back, was NOWHERE near close. They shipped 3 or 4 and all of them had some sort of problem that kept them from being close enough for me to use, bolt holes way off or the steering shaft either hit or was so far off it wouldnt go through. Heck, one of them has two different threads for the studs. They finally shipped me one, different supplier, was more money, but they ate that for me, and it fit near perfect. |

| I just had the same situation with my A last fall. Ended up with a recore from a local shop. They delt with American made cores. Ended up with a good radiator that was no problem to put back on the tractor. |

| Was that different supplier the one they use now? I bought one from them about 5 months ago for a restoration that I'm doing and have not mounted it yet. Was wondering if maybe I have one of the "better" ones. |

| I dont know. They guy who was helping me kept insisting the ones he were sending me measured the exact same as a "factory" one they had sitting on the floor. The last one, before the different supplier one, was probably the best as far as the bolt holes goes, but I couldnt even gett he steering shaft through the hole. After being on the verge of going against my religion, I finally asked to speak with a manager or owner, and the guy I spoke with then said he would send me one from another supplier at his loss. This one is still off slightly, but I got the bolts in and the steering doesnt hit the the sides of the hole. Im not knocking Steiners by any means, I still get a few parts from them now and then, but this time I feel the guy helping me didnt want to waste time trying to help me! |

| Price for recore will be about $100 more than made in china steiner radiator, checked two shops, both in the $575 range. Shop I selected says he can get me a made in Philly core, same thickness as OEM. With all the feedback on the repros from the land of almost fits it is a no brainer to pay the extra and get it recored. |

| | $600.00 seems like an EXTREME amount to have one cored to me? I thought most were doing it for about $400.00.(Might shop arounfd to other shops, even if you had to drive a little farther away.) Like all others are saying,an aftermarket new chinese one will not just bolt up.I hear of guys having to re drill mounting holes on every one of them! If I could get my old one re cored for around $400.00,THAT is the way I would go. |

| I have put several of the new repop radiators in. They weigh about half of the original and they almost fit. My thought is if they last 20 years throw them away and buy anouther. |
