Hello. I'm a Case guy, but have a 1946 IH A that needs a few things. What are the best farmall parts providers with regards to price, quality and correct fit/function? The types are things I'll need are a battery box, a few seals, steering items, electrical items, eventually decals, etc. I'm sure CNH has some things (for a price), and I can watch ebay of course, but do you IH guys have a go-to source for your restoration needs? Thanks!

Thank you to all. I had seen several of the places mentioned from a quick google search, but it's good to hear confirmation. Sometimes there are places that look great but that people with experience know to stay away from. Thanks again, and I'm sure I'll be searching archives and posting more in the future. This was a little work horse and will continue to be, but there are a few things that I'd like to put back to original.

Quoting Removed, click Modern View to see

As an aftermarket seller myself, I can tell you that with the exception of Case-IH, everybody else gats there inventory from just one or two suppliers, so it really makes no difference who you get the parts from, it will be the same part you could have purchased from any of the others.

Even Case-IH has hooked up with Tisco (Gold Value parts) to supply parts for the older, classic machines.

Long story made short, shop by price and how quickly they ship.

Got my H running again, and I was surprised that the dealer"s prices were good, sometimes great, and I like supporting my dealer, I don"t want to take him for granted. Imagine if he was out of business. And for sure i like all the advice and history I get in there.

Welcome to the boards and welcome to the "red side".

Very first thing you need to get is the owner's manual and the part manual. Napa sells alot of things like seals, points, condensor, coils, bearings, etc. They have a cross-over function on their web site.

For some of the more specific parts, Joe's Farmall is a good place. eBay continues to be a great source, but prices are all over the board. Some really good deals, and some just ridiculous prices. This site also sells certain parts, and is a great way to help sponsor the site.

Lastly, everyone here is willing to help, remember, there are no DUMB questions. Some of us can be a whisker salty at times, but don't be offended, as all of us like to help.

Again, welcome.

Welcome to the Red side, I've bought from Steiner's, OEM Tractor Parts, and my local IH dealer, what one doesn't have another usually does, also Rice Equipment/Joes Farmall parts for the really hard to find parts.
