Farmall 300 fast hitch arms update

I posted a question a bit ago about what type of 3 point adapter arms I needed. I found this set on ebay and they seem to address the problem of not being able to lift high enough. I took them and got the upper holes drilled out to 7/8 which cost me $15 and the arms plus shipping were $120, so it was not as costly as I had thought it might become. There is about an inch or two of slop from side to side when the bush hog is lifted up, but that is similar to a 3 point hitch with a stabilizer bar. I got the lights hooked up and really like having the rear work light and the dash light. I got a 12v bulb for the dash light that came with the new temp gauge I put in it. Now that it has a working gauge I found that it warmed up to 160-170 and stayed there for the time I ran it. The PTO slipped under load a couple of times so I need to check the band adjustment, and the PTO seal leaks but that will be an easy fix. I still need to work on the grill and get the right hood put on. I am wondering how the choke rod was originally routed, the replacement one is very sloppy but I don't dare to move it in closer to a straight line because of the starter relay being right there. Any advice will be much appreciated.

Thank you. I am imagining the kind of cable that goes in a flexible casing, such as is used on a bicycle. Is that the right general idea?

You might have to visit a salvage yard to find a bracket to hook the cable end to the carb. It is just a flat piece of steel the is mounted on one of the bolts that hold your bowl to the top. It is about 3 inches long and clamps the cable housing. If you have trouble let me know and I'll try to take a picture of my 400 or 450 to show how it goes. Larry

Zach other than the choke cable retaining bracket that Truckerlarry posted about you are probably also missing the cable wire holder that goes in the choke lever hole.
Have both carb end fastening parts if you need or want them and probably have a good used choke cable. Would have to look on that.

Hey Zach!Do you know what those arms came from? They are from a #314 twoway plow.I have a ste that I removed from said plow(still have it).The 314 was made to accept either fasthitch or 3 point.

I have an adjustable top link but I only use it to back up. It floats better without one when I am mowing.

Thanks, that's neat to know. I figured they had to have been made for some specific implement but I had no idea what.
