I have a book called, 'International Harvester Buyer's Guide' by Robert Pripps. He says the F-30 has the same bore and stroke as the 10-20.Is this correct? Thanks, Fritz

The book is right 4.25" bore and 5" stroke. The only difference is the 10-20 turns over 1,000 RPM and F-30 turns 1,150 RPM.

Yes. This means that the rods and pistons are interchangeable.

The main difference is the water pump. The F-30/W-30 block and head has a different water flow and different "holes" between the head and block which requires a different head gasket.

My early W-30 has a 10-20 block which means it uses a 10-20 head gasket.

the heads are different, the F-30 has larger diameter valve stems and intake and exhaust are different size, I think in and ex the same size on 10-20 in addition to other differences mentioned.
