Farmall H Serial number

My cousin got a nice Farmall H 1948 he says, with Serial number that is normal and correct for that year. However it ends, then over a little ways on the tag is X 1 , What does that mean??. Thanks

X1 indicates it came from the factory equipped to burn gasoline. Standard equipment in 1948 was still the distillate fuel.

X1 is the code for gasoline engine.
IH used different codes for types of fuels used, gear ratios, types of ignition etc
