F-20 Mag Question

Will a Farmall F-20 Mag work on a 1925 McCormick Deering 15-30?
I have found one for sale and it has good spark so if it will work then I will use it!

I put an f4 mag on a 10-20 but I had to rob the drive off of an f20 to get the lenth right.

A 1925 15-30 would of originally used a Dixie Splitdorf #46 magneto, although I think an IHC E4A will also fit. An F4 mag will not fit unless the mag drive has been changed in the past or you change it now. Set the F4 on the mag mounting bracket, line up the bolt holes and see how the impulse coupling on the mag lines up with the mag drive on the tractor, you should be able to tell very quickly if it will work or not.

you can put an F4 on a 15-30/22-36 as long as its the EARLY style F4 mag with the short exposed style automatic impulse. ive got this setup on my 22-36 and bolts right on. used the thin steel spacer that is commonly used on all F4 mag setups. Ill try and snap a pic of it after work tomorrow
