Why can't I touch the throttle going downhill?

So I got my '52 H out for a spin today. It ran great. They only thing that is funny is if I'm headed downhill to where there is no load on the engine, if I touch the throttle at all it dies and I can't save it with the clutch. It just slowly dies. Is there an adjustment I can make on the carb so this doesn't happen or is this just how it is?

Thanks!!!

Either there is water in the float bowl (and system), rust or sediment in the system, or there is a wiring issue that is affected by gravity that opens the ignition circuit, or shorts it to ground. Jim

Hi dstates: Did ya happen to notice what kind of exhaust you had during the down hill adventure?
Lots of black smoke from too much gas..

No noticeable smoke (black or white).

This is very repeatable. 5th gear, slight downhill where the engine is at very little load, but "overspeeding". Slight adjustment of the throttle and it will die. I'm always able to start it back up, though.
