Never encountered before.....head scratcher

Ok, I had a guy give me a F-20 narrow tread for some work I did for him. Pretty much a basket case, but there are some good parts on it, and the chassis is usable.

Here is the challenge: spark plugs are rusted to the point there is nothing left of the flats.......just ceramic and of course the center threaded part. A socket will be useless..................

clueless on how to get these puppies out. The head is in suprisingly good exterior condition, so I don't want to get too agressive. I may be able to salvage the block and the head.

thoughts are welcome.

Knock the rest of the ceramic out of the plug. Heat the remaining part red hot and let cool. They should then be loose enough to turn out with an EZout.

Try this:take 6 point deepwell a 'fuzz' smaller than
the 'correct' size.Drive it on with a hammer.Should
be tight enough to work.

thanks guys, I almost want to kick myself for not thinking of knocking the ceramic out. I also have some metric sockets, I may try that first, if no-go, then the acetylene speed wrench and my large ez-out will be in order.

I am amazed at how sometimes the simple things just don't register until someone else says them.........................

Could you knock the ceramic out and weld a bolt to the remaining plug? May be too much heat for the head.
