International 784 Diesel

Good Morning

I have an IH 784 Diesel, the S# is B530014B005381X.
The number by the starter is 280584ETYD. I"m having some trouble tracking down the year of the tractor.

Tractor data says the number should be on the right axle support. Your number almost looks like two numbers togather. Tractor data also shows serial numbers by year for the 784.
 
1980, Last four number indicate serial numbers on these models, They start at 501 just like most everything else.

I too have an International Model 784 (and an original Operator"s Manual) for a tractor purchased in April 1982 from a dealer in Lennon Michigan. Here is where the various identification numbers are located: Tractor Serial # - rt. side front (just forward of fuel filters); Engine Serial # - rt side of engine just aft of the fuel filters; Skidded unit Serial # - left side bell housing area & just aft of the starater motor.
My serial # is 5248 which would indicate it was built in late 1980 even though sold by the dealer in April 1982. Hope this helps.

I had to rub the sleep out of my eyes, and look to see that it wasn't my post I was reading. The manual I received with the tractor had a dealer number on it. I found out this tractor came from Alderman's in Lennon Mi. also. Its a small World.
