Farmall 100 Fluids

Are fluid amounts for the Farmall 100 the same as for the Super A?

IH-8 Shop Manual calls for 4.5 quarts fluid for trans and differential. Is this correct for the 100?
 
My apologies,rustyfarmall. Somehow my post was, inadvertently, received by you. It was meant for someone on the forum with knowledge of the subject and who would kindly answer the question.

As to manuals, I have a number of parts manuals, owners manuals, service manuals for my Ford, my Farmall Cub and my Farmall Super A, as well as IT's Shop Manual IH-B that provides information regarding a number of Farmall tractors. Perhaps you also own a copy of IM-8 and are aware of what it contains - and doesn't contain.

Again, my apologies for the post getting to you. Hope that it didn't ruin your day.
 
The posted Manual amounts for both are approximates. I would open the level plugs and fill to there. Jim
 
my friend, says that a body should first, open the drain and let the water and crude drain out and close when the good oil comes out, from the case and then then fill to the level, check plug.

Actually, I have a slight problem in checking the fluid level at the fill plug. Also have a problem in filling my left rear final drive oil pan.

The fill/level plugs have been botched-up beyond use. (I'm thinking of taking the tractor to a welder and let him see if he can weld a grade 8 bolt or something in the square holes to allow me to back out and replace the plugs. Other ideas welcomed.)

I flushed the trans and replaced the fluid last year, just needed a final check after finishing work on it. (I simply drained it again, measured the fluid and re-filled at 4.5 qts.)

As to the final drive, I filled the oil pan - oops too full - and re-installed pan with oil. Still, I want to replace the damaged plug so that the next owner will not have this problem.
