Sloshed it around some, but also devised a way to stand the tank on end, and then the other end, and then on each side. The acid was fairly cheap when I did it about 10 years ago. Once I got it cleaned out it was much easier to see. I'm guessing it is only an 1/8" gap. [Reply]  [No Email]

That is why I recommend NOT using sand, rocks, gravel, or any kind of hardware to loosen the rust in a gas tank. Any of that stuff CAN and WILL become lodged in that narrow gap and you will NOT get it out. [Reply]  [No Email]

FBH44 09-14-2012 04:04:09 64.85.215.2 Report to Moderator	Re: Farmall H Fuel Tank in reply to WI-Ed, 09-14-2012 03:00:30   Not exactly sure, except there are gaps / holes in the baffles to let the gas flow back and forth slowly, prevent it from slammng back or forth as you move. The movement of 15 gallons suddenly might move the tank. The baffle is why it can be difficult to blast allthe rust out. [Reply]  [No Email]
