M Bolster Shaft Size Measurements

Rebuilding the steering on my 1939 M, and need to take the bolster shaft to machine shop to be welded up and turned back to size. My shaft is pretty torn up, and I was hoping someone might kinow the proper diameters of the bushing areas?

There are lots of salvage yards (O.K. we used to
call them wrecking yards) that should have good used
ones. Wengers of myerstown PA, might, as well as
Fawcett tractors in St. Marys Ont. A good machine
shop could figure it out for you, and might be less
than a used one, but I suspect not.
Blessings

You might first install new bushings in the fixed bolster. Then measure the ID of each bushing and subtract .005 -.007" from each. This should give you an accurate OD to machine the pivot shaft bearing surfaces to give a good fit to YOUR tractor.
