Paint color on disc

I have a small, disc, Farmall to pull behind my SA. Have dissasembled it to clean and paint. Want to put if back correctly, but confused. Blue paint on most of the frame and hitch, but red as well. The bearings are all red but find blue paint on the scrappers. The supports that hold the bearings and the gangs to the frame have red paint. Any ideas of what should be red and what should be blue? Trying to do correct so can have at RPRU in Sedalia in "15" thanks

If you find a certain color on parts of your disc, I would paint those parts the same as what you found . I highly doubt anyone repainted the disc or went to the trouble to paint it different colors. The Wisconsin Historical Society has the IH Paint Committee decisions online. Just look up disc harrows and start from the beginning. I`ll try to paste the link here. Use IH 2150 for the red and 24160 Du Pont Centari for the blue and it`ll look great. Good luck !

Here's a picture of a Cub disk and plow. I don't see any blue on the disk. Do as mark suggested if you find blue paint it blue. I know the plow and disk wasn't used for a long time, but was sheltered from the weather. Hal

Thanks for the help, I was thinking of doing what you suggested. The disc in the pic looks alot like mine, only mine is a bit bigger, dont know what model, but looks very close. THis sit always provides answers, so thanks again.

This is for Hal, the 2 treaded rods that go to the sides in your pic are on mine as well, that and the piece that attaches or hooks the rear gang to the front gang as well as just some of the top pieces are showing blue paint after I wire brushed them. The rest is red like yours. I agree with both yours and Marks comments to paint the same as I find, but did they really spend that much time painting these at the factory like that? Just curious. I am working on weekends and evenings on this like everyone else on here. Thanks again.

Just was poking around on the Paint Committee decisions that I pasted the link to you, and indeed , the scrapers on the older discs were blue . The disc blades themselves were blue ,also , in a 1927 decision. I have no idea how old your disc is, but it`s very possible your scrapers were supposed to be blue. Back in the 20`s through the 50`s , IH had a red, white and blue paint scheme on their implements , along with a little black thrown in here and there.
