A24 sickle bar mower lube

I'm resealing the power head on my mower and was wondering what fluid I am supposed to use. It was filled with grease but I know that's not right. I'm thinking 90wt gear oil?

I don not know that mower as such but on the sickle mower I have on my BA I used the 85W-140 oil in it and it has worked just fine so the 90W should also be fine

Thanks Old, I have both weights. I think I'll go with the 85w-140. I just wanted to make sure it was gear oil I should use.

Most of the older gear boxes where made for gear oil but as they got old instead of replacing the seal the farmer would just pump in grease instead and save a couple $$
