can you switch m&w gears from the fast overdrive to slow so instead of 9 speed making faster it would make it slower? doable?.thanks

Unfortunately no.. There is a device that makes one higher than 4th and less than 5th. But there has not been a speed reducer. Wardner (on here) feels there could be a way to rearrange the gears to make it a reducer. But I also believe when the gear ratio is reduced there will be substantial chance for gear damage from overloading the finals. A set of planetaries on each rear axle would do it. Jim
