1950 H live hydraulic pressure

I recently installed a f-300 hydraulic pump on the old girl. Works great, love it. Problem, I have Prince stackable valves on it. The inlet has adjustable relief valve on it. The lowest setting is 1500psi. Sounds like to much to me. What is the factory pressure from super H, 300,350 hyd. pump. I have enough pump pressure to completely choke off the motor at half throttle, not good. Is the stock relief valve on the inlet suficiant.

Factory pressure for the SH live hydraulics is 1,200 psi. You can swap in a lower spring rate (softer) spring into the relief to lower the relief setting. Or plumb an external 1,200 psi relief valve into the pump outlet.

You should do this ASAP - especially if your H still has the original cam drive gear! The load you're putting on it when dead-heading at 1,500 psi carries a high risk of breaking the gear.

you better do what bob m said i broke two cam gears before i had sence enough to change the relief pressure i have stackable valves but not prince

Keep in mind that eve with a properly set relief valve, the replacement (heavier) cam gear in the SH/300/350 tractors is prone to failure. Recommend you get the new gear and proper relief valve installed soon to avoid a sudden breakdown!

If you can get the reief spring out,you can shorten it bt a little and re install it. You really need a flow meter/pressure gauge to set the relief to know for sure what you have.
