I have got some parts, mainly ignition and gaskets, for my Dad's old 1963 420 LP two row Cotton Picker. I remember his saying that the engine was similar to the one in a 560, but I never found out for sure if that is correct. Before I advertise anything online, I would like to know: what engine exactly, did they use, in these early gasoline and lp gas two row cotton pickers? All I remember is that they were six cylinder engines that sounded a lot like the truck engines of that era. Thanks. |

| | Hugh, The C263 gasoline and LP and D282 diesel engines were used in the 414 and 420 pickers. The D282 engine has a different timing gear cover that has to be changed to fit the 560 but it will fit otherwise. I would think the same would be true for the C263, but I have no knowledge or experience with that engine. |

| My list says it used the C-263. It was used in at least some of 560, 660, 656, and 706. |

| Thanks, guys, for all the help. I really appreciate it. Is seems like there is not a lot of interest in these old McCormick cotton pickers, but believe it or not, the farm that sits next to my Dad's farm, donated the IH one row cotton picker/M tractor, which is on display at the Smithsonian Institute! But thanks again to all, for the help. |
